No one really cares about how deep you dive or how long you can hold your breath. At the end of the dive there is only you.

That is true freedom.

Hendric Vogel started freediving in California, harvesting abalone in the cold green waters off the state’s northern coast. After travelling and diving around the Pacific, he began training competitively in Hawai’i under the guidance of Kurt Chambers, Lena Balta, and Dean Chaouche. In 2020, Lena asked him to help with VWT attempts. That’s when Vogel Dive Research began. He has since built sleds for Chris Funada's and Melissa Aubrey's VWT national records. Hendric continues to develop equipment for the freediving community.

“Everything I make, comes from my passion for freediving. I built things to fit my niche needs and the response from the freedivers around me made me realize others believe in my vision.”
